Bible Study & Discipleship

Bible study is one of the five priority focus areas that was discerned through our recent mission study. We see it as the foundation of Christian discipleship.  So we try to make Bible study a priority, but we don’t stop there. We also offer additional opportunities for learning and growth as disciples of Christ.
Outstanding classes and activities are available for all ages on Sunday and throughout the week. This is an area of our church life where we are seeking continued growth. So stay tuned more discipleship opportunities in the future!

Sunday School

Adult Sunday School begins at 9:45am each Sunday and continues until 10:25am.
Our Sunday School classes for children and teens are held during the 10:30 am worship service (right after the “Time for Children”) – except for the 3rd Sunday of each month. On the 3rd Sunday, we have a special “Youth and Young Adult” service, and all of the kids stay for the entire worship service.
Seasonal church-wide classes that seek to include all ages are offered during the Lenten and Advent seasons.

Wednesday Bible Study

Opportunities for Adult Bible study are available both in the morning and evening on Wednesdays. Bible study at College Hill Church is designed to be dynamic and participatory.
The Wednesday Morning Bible Study group meets from 10-11am under the leadership of Carolyn Peters.  The Wednesday Evening Bible Study group meets from 6-7pm under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Darryll Young.  Both groups meet at the church in room 104.

Additional Opportunities

Many of our Ministering Units offer Bible study and other learning opportunities that foster spiritual growth, either as part of their regular activities or as a special program.
For example, the Presbyterian Women, Presbyterian Men and Hispanic Ministry groups all include Bible study as part of their fellowship activities. The Social Justice and Peacemaking Ministering Unit organizes periodic book study groups.
