Life Together at College Hill Church

Life at College Hill Church is not just about hearing a good sermon on Sunday. We see our life together as something much more. It involves seeking to worship God in an authentic way, learning and growing together in spirituality and Christian discipleship, and building meaningful relationships while celebrating our diversity.
And in case you haven’t guessed already, it’s also about ministering to each other and to the world beyond our church doors.  That includes both acts of service to meet spiritual and physical needs, and social justice work to change the systems and structures that keep God’s people oppressed.
Regardless of who you are, where you come from, or where you find yourself on your personal journey with God, we invite you to be a part of our church community. Whether you’re five or ninety-five, we believe College Hill Church has much to offer you and we know you have unique and wonderful gifts to share in return.  Here is an overview of how you can learn, serve, and grow at College Hill Church.

Worship is all about God. Authentic worship is a meaningful expression of praise for who God is and thanks for what God has done. Since we’re such a diverse congregation, what’s meaningful tends to be different for different people. So our worship services are bound to be a little  eclectic.
Learn more about what you can expect and which worship service might be right for you on our worship page. Whichever one you choose, rest assured that you are welcome to come as you are!

Bible Study & Discipleship

Bible study is really the foundation of Christian discipleship. So we try to make it a priority at College Hill.  We have morning and evening Bible Study groups that meet on a weekly basis.
Many of our Ministering Units also include Bible study and other learning opportunities as part of their planned activities. You can read more about all of our Bible study and other opportunities for learning on the Bible Study page.

Fellowship is about developing deeper and more meaningful relationships, and it is a core part of our mission at College Hill Church. We “do fellowship” in two distinct, but complementary ways.
Specific ministries bring people together based on demographic similarities and common interests. Participating in those groups/activities offers opportunities to connect with others who really understand you, share your struggles, and enjoy many of the same things you enjoy. That’s great, but it’s only part of what we believe fellowship is all about.
The bigger picture of fellowship is getting to know, learning to appreciate, and forming deep bonds with people who are not just like us. That takes more effort, but it is well worth it!
We encourage this by planning events and programs which bring together people of diverse backgrounds and cultures who might not otherwise get to know one another. There’s usually an element of celebration, and there’s almost always food involved! Our recent Back to Church Picnic is a good example…

Activities for Children & Youth

Children and youth are an important part of our church family. We not only see them as precious gifts that have been entrusted to our care, we also recognize that they can be teachers, ministers, and leaders, regardless of their age.
God has been blessing us with increasing numbers of children and youth in recent years.  Finding more and better ways to reach out to and serve children and youth is one of the five priorities that was discerned through our recent mission study.
